CURUPIRA (MidiaGEO Standards)

The CURUPIRA Methodology is a proposal for environmental, economic and social suitability for enterprises from various sources, in the context of legal and policy framework and respect for local culture. It is structured in setting voluntary market for carbon credits, based on technical and scientific advice, and is aimed at the construction, organization and management of harmonious man-biome coexistence, based on the action of leaders.

It was designed with origin in the explanations of interests, expectations and demands of urban and rural entrepreneurs face the new world scenario of building sustainability in its broadest sense. These clarifications are the result of discussions and debates around the concern with climate change induced by global development model in progress. This new scenario, on one hand, to a crisis triggers alarms, and on the other hand, the other causes the energizing feel represented by the identification of the new opportunity. It is to these that CURUPIRA Methodology shown great value and interest.

As an alternative to Kyoto, has lately intensified in Brazil and in the US the “voluntary market Neutralization”: companies that voluntarily and directly looking for a “neutralization project” to provide answers to society and the increasingly attentive and demanding market as the environment and also to give answers to its own shareholders within the context of social responsibility.

The CURUPIRA Methodology comes in response to the global demand for safe and reliable, translated “sustainable projects”. Such projects require strategic vision and sharp managerial nature and are thought from the environmental issue. Also the methodology is necessary in response to the “valuation of environmental assets” existing in rural areas, exploited or not, partially open or with original vegetation.
